30 WOMEN LEADERS GRADUATED FROM THE 2022 MARITIME SheEO ACCELERATED LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

From March 8 to July 1 of this year, the first "Maritime SheEO Accelerated Leadership Program" took place, which was sponsored by the International Maritime Organization IMO through the Gender Equity Program: Women In Maritime and organized by the Maritime SheEO Association.

This project, developed virtually, was designed especially for women members of the international maritime community, with the purpose of empowering women, promoting equal opportunities and strengthening women's leadership worldwide.

During the kick-off event, IMO Secretary General Kitack Lim said: "The maritime sector is working on the transition to a more sustainable future. .... This transition cannot take place without the brightest minds working to find solutions. I am pleased that IMO is sponsoring 30 places for women from around the world to participate in the SheEO maritime leadership program. This program will empower women in our industry to become future maritime leaders and create legacies of diversity in their own organizations".

On July 1st, after 4 months of duration, this first version of the program came to an end, where a total of 30 women successfully graduated from the Accelerated Leadership Program. Among the graduates are 2 representatives of our Network: Estefanía Osorio, Alternate Member and Head of the Department of Naval Inspection of the Mexican Maritime Authority and Anays Berrocal, Honorary Member and Alternate Representative of Panama to the IMO, to whom we would like to express our pride and sincere congratulations for this new achievement in their professional path.
