3rd GLOBAL WORKING GROUP MEETING OF THE GLOFOULING PARTNERSHIPS PROJECT AND WORKSHOP FOR WOMEN IN THE MARITIME SECTOR IN THE ASIA-PACIFIC REGION

From March 10-13, 2025, in Bali-Indonesia, TNNV-GC Daniela Andrade, Permanent Representative of Ecuador to the Red MAMLa, had the honor of representing her State, as Lead Partner Country (LPC) of the Project, at the 3rd Global Working Group Meeting of the GEF-UNDP-IMO GloFouling Partnerships Project.

The meeting served as a space to highlight key milestones and achievements of the project since 2019, reflect on lessons learned, and explore the possibility of a new phase. A particularly inspiring aspect of this meeting was the massive participation of women from the maritime sector, whose work has been critical to the success of the project.

She was also pleased to participate in the Asia-Pacific Women in Maritime Workshop, together with seven women from the Latin American region, to exchange experiences on how to address the barriers and gaps that still exist, in order to achieve sustainability through the inclusion of women in the maritime sector.
