RED MAMLa ELECTS NEW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE FOR THE PERIOD 2024-2026

As part of the development of the VI Regional Conference and V General Assembly of the Network of Women Maritime Authorities of Latin America - Red MAMLa, the election of the new Executive Committee for the period 2024 - 2026 took place.

The election was held with the participation of the representatives of the 19 Member States that are part of the Network, where the nominations presented by Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, Uruguay, Nicaragua and Venezuela were unanimously supported.

The new Executive Committee is thus composed of the following members of the Network:

  • President:  TN (CP) Macarena Cladera / Uruguay.
  • Vice President: Captain Valeria Rodríguez Burlada / Argentina
  • Legal Committee Director: Dr. Victoria Zorrilla / Uruguay
  • Maritime Technical Committee Director: Daymara Juan Gil / Cuba
  • Social Committee Director: Camila Alejandra Almario Amaya / Colombia
  • Communications Committee Director: María Zoraya Dubon Ramírez / Colombia 
  • Mentoring Committee Director: Natalia del Pilar Suárez Triviño / Colombia
  • External Relations and International Cooperation Committee Director: Lizett Carrero / Venezuela.

The members of the new Executive Committee were sworn in on the last day of the Assembly, reaffirming their commitment to ensure the fulfillment of the mission of our organization through the development of actions aimed at achieving the inclusion of Latin American women working in the maritime and port sector, based on the principles of empowerment, visibility, recognition and training.

At the end of the ceremony, the new President, TN (CP) Macarena Cladera, addressed the attendees, first expressing her gratitude and sincere congratulations to the outgoing Executive Committee for the impeccable work and actions carried out during their period of leadership, which led our network to expand its presence in the Latin American region and internationally.

She also expressed her gratitude to the representatives of the Member States for the vote of confidence given to this new Committee to guide the steps of this third period of management, pointing out that "... since our beginnings as an association, we have charted a course that has allowed us to leave traces in the sea, and it is towards this clear horizon that this new Executive Committee will direct its actions to continue advancing the objectives set by the Network, always hand in hand with our strategic allies. I am confident that our navigation will be fruitful and that we will reach a good port through the joint efforts of all our members and collaborators".
