WEST AND CENTRAL AFRICA LAUNCHES ITS NEW MARITIME WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION

In accordance with the WOMEN IN MARITIME Program and its strong commitment to improve gender balance in the maritime sector, the International Maritime Organization - IMO confirms the creation of a new Women's Association: WIMoWCA (Association for Women in Maritime of West and Central Africa).

The launch of this new Association will be in Accra, Ghana on Friday, July 23, 2021, starting at 10:00 UTC/GMT followed by an online panel discussion on the topic of maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea and presentations of relevance to women in the sector.
