IMOGEN WEBINAR : A CONVERSATION WITH WOMEN IN MARITIME ASSOCIATIONS

On September 23rd at 11:30 hrs (GMT+1), the Gender Equality Network of the International Maritime Organization - IMOGEN, will hold the First Meeting of Gender Associations.

The main objective of this meeting is to present the eight regional women's associations and provide a space for communication between organizations to establish contacts, exchange knowledge, share experiences, establish best practices, make visible the work that has been done in the regions on gender issues, thus reaffirming the commitments included in the 2030 Agenda, in particular SDG 5, which aims to achieve gender equality through the empowerment of women and girls.

The programming of this activity is framed in one of the fundamental purposes of IMOGEN, which is to build a community that promotes gender perspectives in safety, environment, security, maritime trade facilitation and technical cooperation issues in the maritime sector.

The online event will be addressed to Member States, Intergovernmental and Non-Governmental Organizations and the eight regional associations sponsored by IMO.
