Nicaragua

The maritime port activity is regulated by the General Directorate of Aquatic Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, which is the Maritime and Port Authority of the Republic of Nicaragua.
MISSION
To exercise the functions related to the regulation and control of water transport, navigation and the national port system, as well as the acts, facts and goods related to maritime trade; ensuring the protection of the marine environment and comprehensive security, through compliance with national laws and the different international conventions ratified by Nicaragua, inherent to the maritime-port field.
VISION
To be a Maritime-Port Authority that facilitates and promotes, through the execution of an appropriate maritime-port policy, the provision of competitive and safe maritime-port services that encourage the growth of international and domestic maritime trade for the benefit of the country, harmonizing the interests of the State, service providers and users.
