COFFEE WITH MAMLA, EXPERIENCES OF MARITIME WOMEN IN GLASS CEILINGS.
On November 12, 2020, the first virtual meeting of women was held, which brought together representatives of the maritime authorities of Latin America, members of our Network and women who have managed to reach the glass ceiling to discuss the challenges and gaps those they have faced during their professional careers in the maritime and port sector, with the participation of Elvia Bustavino, Secretary General of the Panama Maritime Authority, Débora Valera, President of WISTA Venezuela, July de La Cruz, Administrative Director of DP World Caucedo and Janet Camilo, President of the International Commission of Women - CIM - OEA. More than 150 women from maritime and port authorities from all over Latin America gathered to hear the story of inspiring women who are a reference in the maritime world.
The event also offered the possibility of establishing contacts and creating opportunities for personal and professional development based on the experiences of other women and allowed the opportunity to access 18 scholarships to the course on maritime inspections, awarded by VSV Marine & Port Group, certified by the Center for Innovation and Integration of Competences CIIC, Panama, for representatives and members of Red MAMLa.
