MAMLas AT THE HELM

On January 12, 2022, was held the ceremony of the Change of Command of the LSG Patrol Boat 1617 "Puerto Natales", where the Permanent Representative of the Chilean Maritime Authority to Red MAMLa, First Lieutenant LT Carolina Pacheco Erices had the opportunity to be Commander and lead 11 people as a crew.

To date, the Unit has had 14 Commanders and for the period 2021-2022 for the first time a woman was in command, in this opportunity our Permanent Representative.

For our MAMLa, T1 LT Carolina Pacheco Erices, it was a beautiful challenge to have been able to exercise command in a ship of the Chilean Navy - DIRECTEMAR, so we highlight part of her words: "I appreciate the trust given to me and the responsibility of managing an entire crew, with which it was possible to fulfill tasks of safeguarding human life at sea, environmental protection, and support to isolated areas, among others".
