MAMLas AT THE HELM, WITH A WIND TO THE WIND

On the occasion of the 178th anniversary of the independence of the Dominican Republic, promotions were made in the Armed Forces, occasion in which our Alternate Representative Yudit Ignacio Lora, Bachelor of Accounting, was promoted to the rank of Captain, ARD.

Yudit Ignacio Lora, a native of Santo Domingo, is currently the Director for Gender Affairs of the Women's Corps of the Dominican Republic Navy.

She joined the institution in March 1993, as a Seaman Clerk, and completed higher studies at the Universidad Tecnológica de Santiago (UTESA), where she obtained a degree in Public Accounting Cum Laude, in 1998.

In her continuous professional development, she graduated from the Specialty in Command and Naval Staff, and was the first female officer to occupy the administrative sub-directorate of the General Command of the Navy of the Dominican Republic.

Among her various appointments, she was in charge of Accounting at the Command and Naval Staff Graduate School (2001) and at the Naval Academy "Vice Admiral César De Windt Lavandier" (2006). She also held the position of Deputy Director of the Protocol Department of the Public Relations Division (2013).

During her career she has received the following Decorations:

  • Order of Naval Merit Second Category with Distinguished Service Medal.
  • Order of Naval Merit with Medal of the M.N 2DA. Second Category.
