PANEL COFFEE WITH MAMLa: "CONVERSATIONS WITH EQUITY"

As part of the activities carried out at the V Hemispheric Conference on Competitiveness, Innovation and Logistics, the panel Coffee with MAMLa "Conversations with Equity" was held, moderated by Carlos José González España, Partner Empresa Multimodal, S.A.S.

This space was attended by 3 outstanding Latin American representatives: Montserrat Ambriz, a graduate in International Business with a specialization in logistics from the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey who currently serves as program coordinator at CIP; Neida Medina Turcios, a graduate in Marketing and International Business with a Master's degree in Business Management oriented in Finance. She is currently part of the management team of OPC and Matía de Luiggi, Industrial Civil Engineer from the University of Chile. He was director of the Panama Maritime Chamber during the period 2021-2022 and is a member of the Panamanian Association of Business Executives (APEDE).

During the conversation, the guests discussed current issues related to Gender Equity and expressed various opinions on the challenges that still need to be overcome to achieve the goals set in this area.
In this regard, Montserrat Ambriz shared her experience, highlighting the activities and strategies that the CIP favors to promote gender equity in the Americas. She also gave great importance to the training and active integration of women so that they can take an active role as leaders in the maritime-port sector.

For her part, Neida Medina described the experience of working at OPC, the company's guidelines aimed at consolidating work without gender discrimination and how these good practices have led to the integration of women in different positions at the Port Cortes Terminal.

Finally, Matía de Luiggi emphasized formal training, highlighting several areas in which women should focus their attention to acquire more knowledge and emphasized that female empowerment is a key factor to build a stronger, more stable and fairer maritime industry.
