FROM PARAGUAY: FIRST INTERNATIONAL WEBINAR OF WOMEN LEADERS IN THE MARITIME, PORT AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE SECTOR
The First International Webinar of Women Leaders who inspire in the Maritime, Port and International Trade Industry was held at Estudio Beconi's facilities in the city of Asuncion, Paraguay, organized by Mundo Fluvial, Marítimo, Portuario y Empresarial and the Centro de Estudios de Derecho Marítimo, with the support of Instituto Iberoamericano de Derecho Marítimo - Rama Paraguaya, Red MAMLa, Wista Argentina, Wista Chile, Wista Colombia, Wista Perú, Wista Spain, Wista Uruguay, PR Ports, Centro de Estudios de Derecho Empresarial and Escuela de Normas ISO, the event was sponsored by Estudio Beconi & Asoc. , Puerto Seguro Fluvial S.A. and Lácteos Los Colonos.
The webinar was opened by the Founder and General Director of Mundo Fluvial, Marítimo, Portuario y Empresarial, Carmen Farigale (Future President of Wista Paraguay), who was accompanied by Soledad Muñoz, Shipping Agent of Cargo Line (Future Vice President of Wista Paraguay).
The director was accompanied at the table of honor by the future partners and members of Wista Paraguay Alicia Santa Cruz, Leticia Chamorro, Romina Vargas, Romina León, Cynthia Penayo, Lili Leguizamón, Victoria Inchausti, Elizabeth Bernal, Fanny Canela, Marlene González, Laura Dacak, Cristina Chamorro, Letizia Agüero, Neidi Viveros, Nancy González, Liliana Duarte and Magali Osorio, Anahí Martínez, Diana Giménez, Manuela Lezcano, Mirian Espínola, Yasmin Torres and Norma Guillen, who are working hard to reach the official presentation of Wista Paraguay to 56 countries in the annual event organized by WISTA INTERNATIONAL and scheduled for October of this year in Montevideo, Uruguay.
This activity was declared of Institutional Interest by the Directorate General of the Merchant Marine, with the participation of Dr. Patricio Ortega, Director of the Merchant Marine. Eight International Women Leaders have then participated as speakers; Mariana Noceti, Asst. Maritime Women's Program of the International Maritime Organization, United Kingdom, Elvia Bustavino, President of the MAMLa Network, Panama, Viviana Fonseca, President of Wista Argentina, Alejandra Canales, President of Wista Chile, Gloria Hurtado, President of Wista Colombia, Mercedes Duch, Founding Member of Wista Spain, Alessandra Bugge, President of Wista Uruguay, and Dafne Anghelidis, Vice President of Wista Uruguay, President of Wista Uruguay, Dafne Anghelidis, Vice President of Wista Argentina, who is considered the godmother of the future Wista Paraguay for all the support and advice she has been providing since day one when they decided to form and activate the International Association of Women in Maritime and International Trade.
Paraguay stands out for having the third largest river fleet in the world, and in this opportunity seeks to make visible the work of women in the fluvial-maritime, port and international trade industry.
The proposal of Dr. Fernando Beconi, President of CEDM and Mrs. Carmen Farigale, is to make known the experiences and trajectories of women who have developed their leadership in areas with little female presence, women executives and decision-makers, especially in the aforementioned sectors, and thus attract and support all of them.
A significant number of people from all over the world participated, a total of 18 countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Spain, United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Venezuela and United States.
Several important South American media outlets, such as Profundizar, Confluencia Portuaria, Comex Latam, ArgenPorts, Movant Connection, Coex Corporation, Mundo Marítimo, among others, were media partners.
