RED MAMLa's VII REGIONAL CONFERENCE WAS SUCCESSFULLY CARRIED OUT

The Latin American Network of Women Maritime Authorities (Red MAMLa) celebrated its seventh anniversary with the VII Regional Conference, held in virtual mode. This important meeting brought together authorities, experts and strategic allies of the maritime industry to reflect on the progress achieved and to explore the emerging trends that will define the sector in the coming years.

The event began with a message from the President of the Red MAMLa, Macarena Cladera, followed by a series of keynote speeches. Among them, the opening presentation was given by Lieutenant Commander Jorge Ali Ortiz Melly, who presented "VTS and its implementation in Peru". Mariela Gutarra, President of WISTA Peru, also gave a presentation on "Collaborations that Transform", highlighting the importance of international cooperation in the maritime industry.

The day also included presentations by experts such as Gabriela Riviello López from Argentina, who spoke on "Emerging Trends in the Maritime Industry", and Paulina Vázquez Contreras from Mexico, who presented "Looking to the Future of the MAMLa Network". Each presentation was followed by an interactive question and answer session, which fostered an enriching dialog among the participants.

The conference was closed by Mariana Noceti, Coordinator of the Women in Maritime Program of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), who emphasized the importance of inclusion and technical empowerment for the sustainability of the maritime industry.

The conference closed with a call to maintain the unity and cooperation among the network's member countries, so that the commitment to innovation and sustainable development will remain the central pillar of the Red MAMLa's work in the years to come.
