In February, the National Maritime Authority of Guatemala held a workshop on the MARPOL Convention and Annex VI in Guatemala City. This activity is part of the cooperation between IMO and COCATRAM and was conducted under the expertise of the IMO Consultant, Mr. Eladio Peñaloza.
The Central American Commission for Maritime Transport (COCATRAM) successfully delivered a workshop on the familiarization and application of Annex VI of the MARPOL Convention, which establishes the rules to prevent air pollution from ships, in the Honduran capital.
The Honduran Maritime Authority held a successful socialization talk on maritime training and shipping at the MHOTIVO Foundation facilities. The event, aimed at informing and training young people about the opportunities in the maritime sector, was attended by 64 young people interested in exploring the possibilities that this sector offers for their professional development.
Panama continues to consolidate its position as a key hub for containerized cargo transportation in the Americas, thanks to the strategic vision and constant effort of the people and members of MAMLa involved in this process.
