The Latin America Women in Maritime Authorities Association (Red MAMLa) successfully held its Extraordinary Assembly, with the unanimous participation of representatives of the 19 member states that make up this regional initiative.
Cuba continues to consolidate its active participation in international forums of the maritime sector, recently standing out in the Technical Cooperation Committee of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), a key space for the formulation of policies and strategies aimed at sustainable development, technical cooperation and maritime safety at the global level.
Red MAMLa in Cuba organized a significant commemorative event at the iconic Hotel Nacional de Cuba. The event brought together representatives of the Maritime Administration, sector authorities, and leaders of prominent maritime companies, reaffirming their joint commitment to gender equality, female leadership, and inclusion in the maritime industry.
With the objective of strengthening the presence of Honduran seafarers in the international labor market, Gabriela García, Head of the Shipping Department of the Honduran Maritime Authority (DGMM) and Alternate Member of the MAMLa Network, participated in the prestigious SEATRADE Cruise Global 2025 event, held in Miami Beach, Florida, United States.
